Czechia or Czezh Republic (known as Česko or Česká republika in the official language of Czechia, Czech) is a hilly landlocked country in Central Europe that debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. The debuting entry “Malá dáma” (eng. Little Lady) by a hard rock band named Kabát did not advance from a Semi-final finishing last. The next two entries in 2008 and 2009 were imprecise long shots as well, finishing second to last in a Semi-final 2 in 2008 and dead last in a Semi-final 1 in 2009. Three unsuccessful attempts made the Czech broadcaster rethink priorities and the country withdraw from the competition indefinitely. It was 2015 when the country decided to return with the English ballad “Hope Never Dies”. While the audience did not hate it, it was not enough to qualify once again.

In 2016, Czechia advanced to the Final for the first time in its history. Unfortunately, the results were unfavorable, with the country taking second to last place. Later on, in 2017, the Czech delegation once again failed to qualify for the Final. It was in 2018 when Czechia decided to make it all serious by sending Mikolas Josef, who ultimately finished sixth, the best Czech result to this day. The following year witnessed another successful attempt by the Czechs, with Lake Malawi finishing in 11th place. Then, we had a worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, and afterwards, Czechia sent Benny Cristo, who failed to qualify. In 2022, Czechia sent the band We Are Domi, who finished 4th in their Semi-final but then 22nd overall. Vesna in 2023 finally brought Czechia back into the TOP-10 with a song in Bulgarian, Czech, English, and Ukrainian.

Aiko is set to compete for the Czech flag in 2024.
