W.I.P. Part: Estonia (known as Eestimaa in the official language of Estonia, Estonian) is a Baltic state in the Northern Europe that debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. The country was initially in progress to debut in 1993, but it failed to advance from the qualifying round for new countries. As a result, the European Broadcasting Union did not feature Estonia as one of the participating countries in the contest. Estonia sparkles in the competition history as an example of both good and bad. Estonia made it into the TOP-5 in 1996. The country managed to get into the TOP-10 in 1997 and was just a few steps short of the TOP-10 in 1998. Estonia rightfully returned to the TOP-10 in 1999 and then into TOP-5 the following year. It had placed in 9th place on average in the first part of its ten years in the contest, and the seventh time competing was the charm – it has become the winner of the competition.
